Stay to Play

Since you’re going to be telling everybody you know about your trip to The Blue Canoe, the almost mythical campground on the banks of the Youghiogheny (The Yough), here’s some of the stuff you’ll be saying. The Great Allegheny Passage (known familiarly as the GAP) runs smack dab through the middle of our beautiful campground, and it’s a magnificent trail for long-distance bike-riders (you can go all the way to Washington, D.C., that is). This also puts you right next to this wide and friendly estuary, so grand for viewing from your site, so fun for chasing trout and paddling your kayak.

What’s Your Camping Style?

Welcome, campers of all configurations, tastes and philosophies. Download a map of the grounds and you’ll see how well-organized and centrally located are the conveniences. We have virtually every option for RV hookups. Or spoil yourself with the best of the indoors and out in one of our luxury cabins, enjoying proximity to the conveniences of a clubhouse, pavilion, camp store, bath houses, trash facilities. For kids and the parents who love them, there’s so much to do right on site that they’ll never get to all of it. But that won’t stop them from trying. Wow, are you going to love our themed weekends.

A Time Gone By (Book Ahead)

“Sylvania” means “from the forest.” In a state so full of history and major cities, you’ll be amazed at Pennsylvania at its most pristine and forested, and it’s a pleasure we wish every camper in the country could share. Know why we call it The Blue Canoe? ‘Cause you feel like you’re floating along in a time and place that belonged to our ancestors, so peaceful, so untamed. Every once in a while you’ll catch sight of a blue canoe in the corner of your eye and you’ll wonder, was that real? The Blue Canoe is the pride of Roadville, and we work very hard to make it that way for you and your family. When you tell your friends, they’ll want to see this unreal vacation spot for themselves. Just tell them to book ahead (after you get your reservations).
